Following her father's death, Maya and her brother Nathan operated it successfully for years, until some poor business partnership choices led to disappearances among the refugees they'd been paid to move. When her brother stepped up to investigate, he vanished, leaving Maya to set off on his trail. Maya's effectiveness in combat comes from long years honing her skills in infiltration, evasion, and misdirection. Her knowledge of the criminal underworld and its unorthodox tactics is a force multiplier for any ally, but her unfiltered opinions don't make her the easiest friend to keep.
